IRS suspension lock out

Anybody use the IRS suspension lockout by moose? I'd be putting it on an 06 sportsman 700 for occasional use handling boats and fish house.

Any other companies out there have one I should look at instead?

How hard was it to install?

I've never used one on the IRS machines I've had. I can see the benefit but one should always use caution when putting over 35 lbs tongue weight on an ATV.

What do they cost for a polaris?

$135 for the Moose version and Koplin makes a more generic version for about $60. Cabs had the Koplin on sale so I pulled the trigger and ordered that one to try out. I'll let you know how it goes. I should get it in this weekend.

Gus how did the IRS lock instalation go. Has anyone else put one on and do they work?

Install was very easy, and it works great. The kit is a universal kit, so I think it needs a few mods to be perfect. Shorter bolts are needed, and cutting the A Arm bars shorter so they do not catch any sticks etc. Here are some pics of the install with the parts as they came out of the box. I have since taken it apart and modded it to my satisfaction. But it works great.

This next pic shows the already present mounting holes in the A-Arms which lined up great.

Next pics show left and right side and then the lockout bar inserted. Looking at the left and right side you can see how the mount overhangs on the A-Arm. This is what I trimmed as well as used shorter bolts after I reworked it. Still, for a universal kit I think it works great.

I have been doing basically the same thing for a few years now. I just use one solid piece bolted to each side, no pins. With the fish house hooked up, it barely squats. Without it, the tongue was almost touching the ground.

Would this be wide enough to put on a UTV. I'd get a setup like this for my Teryx if it will stretch across.

I really want to get one of the IRS lockout models for my Polaris atv, but am concerned it will damage the suspension when pulling the ice castle house. Anybody have experience with these. Has there Been any damage to the suspension when pulling heavy things with your atv.
