Had mine go down late last season. 4,700 ish miles. Main bearing caused a rod to go and put holes in the block and made a mess of things. Not a good day. Not much of a mechanic really so some thoughts here from those with some mechanical aptitude with the whys and how comes? And then what to do about it.

Hearing that this has happened on occassion with their triples with one of the possible reasons being the low oil consumption. Some guys have recommended turning up the oil pump or putting a little bit in the gas with every fill. The other thing is over revving caused mainly by my right thumb but also wondering on tweaking the clutch and installing a better track?

Have purchased a used motor which had the top redone 1,200 miles ago. The motor has 4,000 on it now. Does a guy redo the mains? or put it in and do the above and not worry about it?

Thanks in advance for the advice.
