2500 Ram Diesel transmission??

Recommended Posts

Truck is an 05' with a 47RE tranny in it.

I want to do a full fluid change.

Can any one tell me off hand which line coming off of the pan housing is the in and which one is the out flow?

The leads at the front of the truck are hard to get to where it goes into the radiator, so I was going to pull the return flow line off of the housing after I put the pan back on and filled it back up. Then run the truck to cycle the fluid thru the line and collect it via the return line.

Of course I would be filling the pan back as I go...

There is one at the front of the housing and one at the rear...anybody with a diagram.

I cant find anythign that specific on line anywhere.

- is the lube oil for the bearings and gears and cooling for the clutches.

I hope so, it is Amsoil ATF. Last time it was flushed it was at the dealer and they used the standard ATF+4. I need to cycle the whole works out to get the entire system on amsoil so it isn't mixed.

Shack, BTW you have a 48RE, they quit using the 47 after 2003

IDK, I was looking at the numbers on the top of my seal/filter kit which said it was for 42,44,46 & 47RE from Napa.

Now you got me thinking I should call them to make sure it is the right part before I open it up. shocked
