mixxedbagg
Tomorrow will be my first day ever of hunting over decoys. My plan is to hit a local river unless there are other boats there, then I have a couple of smaller lakes in mind. I have a collection of bought and borrowed decoys as follows:12 Mallards6 GW Teal12 Bluebills3 Canada GeeseI had intended on plunking out the dabblers and geese, but I'm wondering if I should just leave the bills at home or if they would be good in the spread even though they'd be a bit unnatural since I haven't seen any scaup around yet. Thanks.
carpshooterdeluxe
probably wouldn't hurt to run 2 or 3 drake bills on the outside of your spread. gives the spread great visibility.
Traxxx
I always throw out a few bill dekes. Adds visibility and the white attracts all sorts of different species. Today, I had a pair of ringbills and a pair of gadwall cruise the bill dekes. Keep em spaced out around 4-5 feet in a line into the wind, off to the side.
