Managed Area Bag Limit ?

student

Recommended Posts

I am hunting in two different managed areas this year. I will be buying three different tags/licenses (Archery, Muzzleloader, and Rifle). I am only allowed two deer correct? Either a buck and an antlerless or two antlerless, right? If I shoot a buck with my bow, I still need to buy a rifle license even if all I'm able to shoot is an antlerless with my bonus tag? Thanks for the clarification.

Correct, only two deer total. Correct on your combinations as well. And yes if your are hunting with a firearm during firearms season you need to buy a firearms license. In your senario you could tag a doe with either your regular firearms license or your bonus tag. Both would be valid, but you will end up eating one, or hunting a intensive harvest area to fill the other.

So right now all I have is my archery tag, no bonus tag yet. If a doe walks by my stand and I shoot it, I have to tag it with my either sex tag and unless I buy a bonus tag, I'm done archery hunting. Once I use my archery tag on a doe, I can't shoot a buck via archery?? Right?

Yep, if you plan on shooting a doe with your bow, you are better off buying the bonus tag and using that IF you want to keep hunting BUCKS with your bow. I usually do this and often times, end up eating the bonus tag at the end of the year, but it has kept me in the woods so its worth it.
