new pup - how long before leaving her in kennel with older dog

I am bringing home a 12 week old pup tomorrow and am wondering how long I need to let them get used to each other before I can leave her outside with the older dog (both are labs) I plan on keeping her in a kennel in the house for the first couple of days for sure but figure she will probably be happier outside with some campanionship.

Does not keeping her in her box slow down the bathroom training as she will be able to unload any place in the bigger kennel that she feels like? The pup has been kenneled outside at the breeders so it is used to outside temps at this point. Also since both of us work during the day I dont think a pup can hold it for 6 or 7 hours until they get a bit older. Any thoughts?
