How is the fall pike fishing on Sakakawea?

Recommended Posts

If you mean walleye it should be good at times but don’t expect excellent. We don’t have any history to help predict the bite. Water is up so we are in a time of transition.

If northern is what you have in mind that is a different story all together. I would say you can expect poor to downright bad fall fishing for northern. Our numbers are way down and water is way up. It will be a couple of years before we see good northern fishing and likely a couple of more before we begin to approach what we had 5 years ago. There are some big fish left but not many. The positive side is we have uncountable small northern right now and all they have to do is grow.
