Valley Creek

Can any one tell me how to get to Valley Creek, Im trying out new trout streams and have heard good things about Valley. Thanks in advance!

If you mean the one in Afton, there are wild trout in there, but there is virtually no public access.

Drive 30 minutes south or east and you will find far better streams with lots of access.

But don't let my advice stop you from exploring--its a cool looking little stream.

Wild, thank you for your advice, i have fished many other streams, just would like to see what Valley has to offer, Can some one please give me some directions to the creek, i will be walking the creek in waders so no trespassing issues!

Not sure where or how to get there, but if you do a search for valley creek, you'll find some threads. i remember seeing some a while back.

If it's a designated trout stream you should be able to find it using the trout stream maps and access it at one of the road crossings.

The only place I think you can really access it is off of 95. I know of people who have waded up from there, but with little or no success. The water that has the trout is a ways upstream from there, and is very heavily posted.

Thanks Again Wilds! Yah I found a spot to go in, the day before all this rain, Got 7, 4 bows,and 3 browns, KInd of upset about the closing of the season. When does it start back up again during the winter?

The season won't open again until mid-April 2011 I believe, but there are some streams in the Southeast that are open for catch and release in January. Valley Creek is an interesting place to fish, especially with landowners who may or may not have put trail cameras along the river. If you play it right that place is a dream come true with more than enough fish to catch and some size, too. The only problem is the stream is so small that you really can't share it with other anglers too easily, but if you fish it during the week you'll have it all to yourself.
