zdmiller
Heading to Orr for opener, I have had luck around Orr in the past but havent been up there in a couple years, as my occupation hasnt allowed me too. What I am wondering is, if I were to venture off from Orr, Is there more logging trails accessible to the north towards International Falls off of 53 to the west or would I have better luck heading east along 23 towards Ely? CRAZYEYES
It was pretty good north of Orr last year. There are a lot of major logging roads north Orr up 53 and most of it is public state or national forest land. Some of the more popular roads are Elephant lake, sheep ranch, townline, ash lake road and they all go back a long ways with lots of trails. It will be a busy weekend on all the major roads but theres a lot of smaller lesser traveled areas and snowmobile trails that don't allow atv's. zdmiller
Thanks for the heads up crazyeyes, had a good time, was pretty busy even on the atv trails, kinda like a little city up there with people camping all over the place! Still managed to have a great time, and the weather was beautiful!
