Giants Ridge - Area Lakes

Heading to Giants Ridge this weekend - wondering which area lake would be best to hit. Thinking Walleye / Northern trolling cranks spinners etc. Wynne doesn't look good (per the DNR) but Sabin looks decent. We're staying right at Giant's but would be willing to travel a bit to get to a good lake. Thanks, Paul.

One of my favorites is Whitewater, in Hoyt Lakes. Very good northern and walleye bite. If you need info on how/where to fish it, let me know. It's about 10 minutes MAX from Giant's Ridge.

Embarrass Lake is a good option for walleyes. Not far from Giants ridge.

Fasternu and Casey - sorry I didn't get your messages in time. Ended up fishing Sabin (sp?) on Sunday. Beautiful weather, good company (my 3 and 5 year old sons) and several fish. Trolled cranks up around the river inlet and caught several pike - nothing big (all between 17 and 22 inches). Weren't interested in keeping anything anyway - just wanted to have some fun. Did see a couple of eagles - the boys loved that. All in all a very nice time on the water. Thanks again for your suggestions - will be back up that way again I'm sure. Good Luck, Paul

If you are up there during winter trout season there is a mine pit, Embarrass Mine, right next to Giants Ridge with lakers, rainbows and brookies. The fishing there can be decent to good at times.
