Ice Fishing 2010-2011 places

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I made the move from Minnesota to Colorado. I live in Aurora, next to Denver and was wondering what Lakes 1.5 hours away or less are good ice fishing lakes. Mountain lakes are doable too.

Also, for fishing open water, what lakes would you suggest that are not Resevoirs that require pay fees.

Thanks,

Check with my "partner in slime", Terry Wickstrom of Angling Adventures Television. Originally from Minnesota, he now lives in that area (Ft. Collins)and has been doing shows out there for the last 10-12 years. He would know.

Information can be found on our FishTec web site.

I moved from CO to MN just over four years ago! Colorado born and raised! We pretty much lived on a few mtn lakes for ice fishing! Grandby, Grand, Williams Fork, and Wolford up by Kremmling! All four are awesome for trout, Lakers, rainbows, and browns! Antero Res. down south is another good trout lake! If your a little crazy you could always try Aurora, Cherry Creek, Chatfield, Boyd, or Barr lake up by Brighton! Those lakes do not get a lot of ice so you gotta be careful! The last five I mentioned all have pretty much every species there is in CO. Good luck and hope this helps!
