Music ???

Ok I'm puter illiterate and just got a new stereo for the boat that takes SD/MMC cards, what the easiest way to load up an SD card with music???

Just drag and drop as long as your music is organized in some fashion.

When you plug it in to your PC, Windows will recognize the new device and ask you what you like to do with it, just open in file viewing mode. Open another explorer window, find your music files and either drag and drop or copy and paste. I assume since it has a card reader it is mp3 capable, and that your pc has a card reader.

I would suggest putting the new memory card in the stereo in the boat first. It might have pre programmed folders to add.

Otherwise you can upload your music to the SD card and stick it in and nothing happens. Most likely its probably like a cell phone external storage card (micro sd) You have to stick it in the phone first to have the phone load folders on it.

Well it was a success, not quite as simple as I had hoped but easy now that I know how.

were you able to just load the music or did you have to put the SD card in the stereo first to see if it made folders?

Just curious if anyone stumbles across this sometime they will have the answers if they have the same set up. wouldnt hurt to put the make and model number of the stereo for reference

I formated it in my card reader/pc first then just loaded it up works great but I need more music to fill it lol
