Any suggestions???

Recommended Posts

I was just up in Canada and the last night i was going thru some of the pictures i had taken. After deleteing a few, and going thru the remainder of them i took a picture of the cabin and got a message that the card was full. deleted that picture and tried to take another and got full card message. went back to try and look at the pics i had saved and couldn't view any, yet the card was full. brought it home and plugged it in with wierd files showing up on the card. almost like they were chinesse letters was the file type. i have no idea what any of that means and would like to know if anyone does or has suggestions to try and get my pics back, or are they gone and the card is shot???

thanks for any help.

Sorry to hear about your trouble! Is sounds like you have something corrupt on the card, a file possibly? Try buying a $20 card reader that you can plug into your computer. Put the card in there and see if that will read them. If that doesn't work you could try some file recovery software. There are some free ones out there, a search should turn up something. I use commercial software that came with one of my memory cards.

As far as the card itself once you have exhausted your efforts to recover your shots try a re-format (should be an option in your menu) in your camera. Often times this will get your card back on track. This is something that should be done every time you insert your card in your camera and once your photos are downloaded and backed up. Good luck, I hope you recover your shots.

THANKS DBL! I had the card reader, but did the search and came up with a few downloads. I can see the thumbnails, but all the ones i have seen you need to purchase to save to your computer. My father in law seems to think he has some software that will do the trick, but i do know that the majority of the pics are on the camera still.

YEAH!

i will put a couple up when i get the rest figured out.

thanks again for the tips.
