Fall perch

Whats the usual tactic for fall perch. Was up on mille lacs a few wks ago and did fairly well on Jumbo's trolling and want to spend sometime this fall on them. Any suggestions?

Look to shallow rocks and shallow bays, say 8 feet to 2 feet (they move around).

Casting small cranks is my favorite, and works great if they're really going. And it's a way to target larger fish and skip over the dinks.

My next favorite is a jig and plastic, or jig and minnow. I prefer not to mess around with live bait if I can help it ----- and as you start jigging you're going to get more of the smaller fish.

Finally, bobber fishing with a jig and/or live bait will work best if the bite is tough, and will produce a lot more small fish for you.
