JohnMickish
12 foot trolling rods are hard to find and when you do they tend to be a bit whippy with weak tips. This comes from the rods not really being designed as a trolling rod. The Scheels rods have a nice action to them and the tips are firm enough to see the lure work, or not work when it gets fouled, yet soft enough to take visious hits when trolling crankbaits in current. The Scheels trolling rods work great with leadcore or longlining. Having 12 foot rods can really be a great advantage when working with 6 to 8 lines in the water. There is also a 14 footer for those that want to spread it out just a bit more!I give these rods a solid 4 out of 5. At right around $100 these are a great deal. While there are better trolling rods on the market then are 2-3 times the cost which really makes these rods shine.
