waskawood
I see some people slow cooking meat in plastic wrap at lower temperatures. How hot can one safely cook with plastic wrap?
NEANGLER
About 250 - 275 but make sure you wrap the meat in foil after you wrap it with plastic wrap. You can go higher say 350 but it starts to get brittle. You can also do this on pans, just put your meat in, cover with plastic wrap, then foil. Also do not use the wrap you buy at the grocery store, go to Sam's, Restauarant Depot ot a restaurant supplu store and buy the wrap that is in the bigger rolls. Only costs about $25-30 and clings 10 times better than anything you can buy at the store so you will use it for everything anyway. It is made for restaurant use and heating. the stuff at the store is mainly used to cover up you food to put in the fridge and can't take the heat. Believe me I tried and it shrivled up and burned into nothing.
