lakeshoremunster
So come to find out yesterday, after all that packing and driving to go bait we werent able to get our sites up and ready yesterday. The dnr decided to close the place down, and didnt post anything up telling us why they closed it down. So Im wondering how late is too late to get my sites up and running. I wont know when The place is going to be open until tomorrow when I give the dnr a call and see when they are going to re-open the roads. We stoped at the local bait shop to ask and see if they knew anything about it being closed down and he said that they may have closed it down due to all the rain that they have gotten last week, said that the roads may have been flooded over, that dose make sense to me because the road has swamps on both sides for the first half of it, and the area that I was going to set my site up is sorrounded by water, it was pretty flooded out last year for the first week and a half.I was pretty bumbed out yesterday, all that prep work and packing everything to just drive up all that way to find out it was closed off, to make things worst the atv wouldnt start for me so we couldnt even load it on the trailor. bogwalker
You have plenty of time. Do you know anyone in the area to keep you updated on your access road? I am sure many hunters will find their sites flooded out this year so you are not alone. I am comfortable setting up baits all of September if I find there is activity nearby. What general area do you usually hunt?
lakeshoremunster
im up by the pine city area a little north of it, I dont know anyone up there, everyone I know that hunts the area is located in the cities. I wish I had enough time to hunt the whole season but time is money and I cant afford to take off all that time, I was planning on hunting until the 6th and maybe the following weekend only,Hopefully they re-open the place up early this week so I can just run up there and set up a few sites. also hope the rain holds off so they dont close it again. bogwalker
If you can't get to the exact spot you want, how close can you get to it?
lakeshoremunster
I will have no idea until they open the roads, until then my season does not look so good.
