The switch is pretty easy to replace, simply unplug power cord, remove the cover, unplug wires going into the switch, remove the screws and replace. Same with the lid switch, two screws and replace. You can use a small screw driver to depress the lid switch to see if that is what it is, however i have done several of the timers on these washers for the fire dept.
