Wisc. 2-3 day fall drive

Recommended Posts

I'd try the Chequamegon and Flambeau River forests. Both should be great. Not sure about where to stay. You could follow the Namakagon River (basically the south branch of the St. Croix) up towards it's source, maybe stay in Hayward or Cable. Then depending on whether it's a 2 day or 3 day trip head east to either the Flambeau River basin (2 day) or northern Wisconsin river basin(3 day). Just stay north of highway 8 as long as possible as there's simply too much farmland along 8.
