Anyone trying to film their bear hunt?

Recommended Posts

I thought I would try and get the hunt on film. I have a pod that attaches to the tree. I think I will set it up when baiting. Hopefully it doesn't cause too much movement and or noise. Anybody doing this or done it in the past?

I have always thought about doing it, but never have. I do have my cell phone in my front pocket usually. I like to record the skunks and racoons that come in. Those little critters can sure put on a show sometimes.

We've filmed about 7 or 8 over the years...if it's really still a bear will pick up on the noise of the zoom lens and even the camcorder running. We've had to stop a few filming attempts because it was spooking the bear...We edited all our video's together on one disk so we can watch them all...it's kinda fun to relive the hunts-harvest...and....oh yeah, a few good misses!!

I've been documenting/filming my scouting trips and will film my baiting. It is fun to look back and given a bear hopefully comes to the bait the filming shouldn't be too difficult as location is set. Light and battery may be the only problem.

I think I will keep the lens set at wide angle or zoomed in slightly and leave it at that to avoid any noise.
