Folks have been talking for a few weeks now that FLW Outdoors would make a significant announcement this week at the Forrest Wood Cup. But there's been little speculation as to what the news might be.

Still nothing to report in terms of solid info, but Irwin Jacobs did tell the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he'd make two major announcements this week "that will change the sport forever."

It's worth noting that a while back, FLW Outdoors president and CEO Charlie Evans was quoted as talking about how attractive a unifying championship might be. With the McKinnis group soon to control BASS, could there be the possibility of a combined championship in the future? It's certainly something that would get BassFans especially fired up.

This would make things a lot more interesting!!!
