Bluebird Houses 3 pics

This spring I erected four new Bluebird houses. These eggs are in a nest box that previously had a Tree Swallow in it and fledged three young.

These baby Bluebirds are the first hatch for this box.

This dog took over this box after the Bluebirds fledged.

The fourth house got infested with ants, so I had to take the nest out and powder it with an organic ant killer.

I cannot for the live of me attract house wrens, despite building ten wren boxes. It looks like you had a successful nesting season. I still have a 2 tree swallows pairs nesting in mine which seems a little late in the season. I am not sure if they are just late nesters are taking a crack at a second brood which they normally don't do.

At least that dog waited until they fledged! They have been known to move in anyway. Nice photos. I used to monitor the bluebird houses weekly for Camden SP--known for its bluebird population. These brought back good memories. Although I could have gotten along without the woodtick recollection. And maybe the hill climbing memory. Or lugging around a step stool because I was too short flash back. Watching them fledge was always a treat, though.
