Wolf Attack DNR Email Alerts

Recommended Posts

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin wildlife officials are offering e-mail alerts on wolf attacks as the state's hunting dog training season begins.

Dog trainers, pet owners and anyone else interested in tracking wolf activity can sign up for the alerts on the Department of Natural Resources' home page. The alerts will notify subscribers of wolf attacks on hunting dogs and pets, and offer a link to more details and a caution map based on the attack locations.

Wisconsin's hunting dog training season began Thursday and runs through Aug. 31, about a week before the bear hunting season begins.

DNR biologists warn wolf packs may have several rendezvous sites during the summer and will defend them against hunting dogs that get too close.
