It has been at least 6 years since the conditions have been right for my area for these guys to bloom.I have to admit they have been moved a few times

The last time they bloomed I visited my brother in Montana and came back and they were blooming. This year my brother is visiting this weakend with his family and the are blooming ounce again.

NO LIE !!!!

Man it seemed it took for ever for the blooms to start to open up. The stalks grew fast with in a weak at opener. I was up north the first ten days of the opener and when I came back the first photo was what I saw!

The photo's you see now are today!

My Dad brought one back from a hunting trip in So. Dak. about 25 years ago. I think it has flowered maybe three times in those years. It's beautiful when it flowers, but what a gawd awefull plant when it don't.

I spent 18 years in CO and can't stand them personally. They are a terrible pest of a plant that spreads if not kept in check.

I will tell you if you want to get rid of them, get a shovel and keep digging, their roots go down a long way. A 5 gal can of gas and match is effective as well.
