PROV
Anybody out there have any input on this caliber? I will be going after moose this fall in Minnesota. I have 200 and 250 grain loads that I bought from Remington. I've taken a number of deer with the gun and there never seems to be much reason to worry about tracking the animal. I only carry it when the weather is nice, due to the fact that the gun has a walnut gun stock. If I know that the weather is going to be nasty, I carry my 7MM that has a synthetic stock and stainless.
troutned
Although I have no personal experience with the cartridge, I know it has long been a proven cartridge for moose, bear, elk, etc. Find a load that shoots accurately with a mid-weight to heavy bullet. I personally would try a 225 grain Nosler Partition or Accubond if it were me. Good luck, you've got a proven big-game cartridge there!
