Starlight Bay Resort - Nevis, MN

Have not been to that particular resort, but stayed VERY close by last year. Nice area, nice beach, close to town. The fishing was not what I had hoped for, as 8th Crow Wing is managed for trophy pike and I'm more of a panfish guy. All in all I think Starlight Bay looked like a nice place.

Stayed there about 3 yrs ago, The fishing then wasn't the best but the cabin was in good condition. The onlt thing I didn't like was the highway that seperates the resort. I have kids and Co Rd 33 runs right through the resort, the cabin we stayed in was accross the road from the beach and therefore had to keep a close eye on them.

The dock system they had was nice and the owners were very accomidating, the boat landing at the time was rather rough, but they may have improved thatsince then.

Overall I would give it a satisfactory rating.

yeah, i didn't find out until after the fact, about the highway running through the resort. but we are in a waterfront cabin, so it won't be as bad.

i've fished that area for quite some time, it is just my first time staying at a resort in the area, and they are one of the very few that accepts pets. i was just more concerned with how the owners really are, good docks, what condition the beach is in, etc.

thanks for the replies though!

I have been going to IN-WE-GO Resort which is next to Starlight Bay for about 6 yrs. Fishing has been good for us but every year is different. We are headed up in July this year for a week. There is a public access across the lake which is a bit better than the resort accesses.

Ive been going to 8th crowing for over 30yrs. The fishing can be great but you never know in July. I have been staying at starlight bay for 7yrs. Sherm and Mary will do everything posssible to make your stay great. What do you plan on fishing for and what week in July will you be there. I should be able to hook you up with some info. Dont forget you can also access 9th and 10th through the channels.

are you the group from indiana that just "cleaned up" on the eyes over your week, a few weeks ago?

I have spent a lot of time in the entire nevis, park rapids area, and this is my first time going back there since the land we owned was sold. so, i will be fishing some other lakes, and revisiting some "honey holes" of past, and seeing how much things have changed.

i will be up there 7/15 - 7/18.

if you have any info on the lake, i will gladly take a pm though!

thanks!
