9.9 johnson sputering?

hi i have a 9.9 1975 johnson it has run great. i had the carb rebuilt because something got sucked in to the high idle screw. after this it would sputter some so i had the guy readjust the carb everything seemed great. now not all the time. when i slow down or idle she will get a hiccup kind of like its going to die but doesnt. never stumbles on excelleration. i have new hoses primer bulb fuel filter arrow is pointing right way is this serious or should i just let it go its not all the time but just anoying i use fresh non oxy gas and it never sits long. thanks for your help

Does it have a slow idle adjustment on the side of the motor? You probably already looked at it but worth checking the setting?

Still sounds like idle mixture. Sounds a little too lean.

can i just turn the knob a little richer. is this the knob on the front or on the side i know the guy who fixed it showed me he adjusted both thank you

Front. And yes, thats what I would try first.
