scsavre
There was some pressure tonight. Hit 2 lakes but the accesses lots were all full, went to my third and last pick and managed some nice tiger action on bass gear.
john skarie
I think we all know why there is growing pressure. The same thing that attracts us to muskie fishing is appealing to the rest of the fishing community. With the fantastic muskie fishery of today why wouldn't it attract more and more anglers? The question is what do we do about it?The only thing that is getting us more opportunity for muskie waters is Muskies Inc. in MN. I'm sure we all know muskie fishermen who don't belong to MI that complain about pressure etc.Soooo..., what are these guys (or you if you aren't a member) waiting for?JS
Castinski
A lot of this pressure is being brought about by those new to the sport, as others have said. The scary thing is watching all of these guys hurling for muskies without the adequate tools. I have seen more guys without nets/release tools this year than ever before. I would like to educate them, but it's just not feasable to go up to every boat you see out there. Not to mention, most comments would not be well recieved. It would be nice to see an educational sign posted at launches along with the 48" min sign that stresses a quick release, minimum time out of the water, etc.Eh, a good portion of them will quit when they realize it's not quite as easy as it looks on tv.
