LOW - NW Angle Fishing Report

Heading up to our trailer on Thursday for the first trip of the year. Anyone been fishing at the Angle yet? If so, what's the good word?

Since no one reported anything I will post a general report from our first day of fishing. Found fish in our usual places. Fished both reefs and points. We caught fish in 11 ft and 28 ft so not much of a pattern. Most of our fish were caught on Gulp. One person in our boat tried crawlers with about the same result. We fished for about 4 hours and boated between 30-40 fish.

The suprise of the day was a eelpout (icky). I was the lucky one to pull it in. I've caught lots in the winter but this was the first summer pout.

We are heading back out tomorrow. Hope to try for some smallies if we can get a limit of decent eyes.

If you're not makin any money you may as well fish. I did find enough for bait.

Nine of us stayed at Youngs Bay resort June 6-13 and did very well on eyes up in Bishops bay. 8-25' off of points, reefs and breaks. We were jigging and crawlers were the best bait.

Ducker - Sorry I didn't respond earlier. We were in Mexico for ten days. Too late, but maybe it will help someone else out. We found crawlers and gulp to be equally successful. There was only about a 2 hour period where it appeared that crawlers were out producing gulp. It may have just been luck.

Keep the reports coming. I won't get out fishing until 4th of July weekend bt will be sure to post our results.
