I would be a little more inclined to try something more flexible/tougher but it will work for a while.

The problem with bondo is that it shrinks, causing it to crack and fall off. Kind of a poor situation if your in a boat.

That being said when I painted my boat I did use a little bit to fill a couple small holes and scratches. However, had it been anymore than that and it would have gotten welded or epoxyed. 3m makes some crazy tough stuff like structural bonding adhesive and seam sealer that would be better suited than bondo.

Yeah, i wouldn't use bondo on what you are doing! 3m makes an adhesive for what you are doing as does SEM! YOu are probably going to want to put a patch with an adhesive on the inside of the boat and then also put that adhesive on the outside to cover the leak!!
