Question about ford f250?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1999 f250 with a v10 with about 120000 miles, automatic

Last week the service engine soon light came on, so I drove right over to the parts store that I buy most of my stuff and he put the scanner on it. It come up with a code, but I don't remember the exact code but it was a lean burn on bank 1, he pulled out a sheet of paper and it said to check all vacuum line with note of pcv lines, sure enough there was a crack in the line.

Now after that was fixed and all codes cleared it still does not run right. When I put it into gear it will drop way off on rpms but comes right back to normal. If the A/C is on and rev it up it will come down and stall out. Even if you put it into gear with the A/C on it will die a lot of the time.

Any ideas?

I should note that the truck seemed to run fine before and after the check engine light come on. This started after I fixed the vacuum line.

It may be just an idle relearn. But I would clean the Maf sensor, and the Idle air control motor, (IAC) then do an idle relearn on it.

Warm engine, all accessories off, idle for 2 minutes in park/neutral, then idle in drive 2 minutes, then idle in drive 2 minutes with the a/c on, then idle in park with a/c on, then go drive it about 5 miles on the high way, steady speed, then see if it still stalls.
