Mine started to lose bottom when I was over ~30 feet or when over a soft bottom. I hooked up my 522C to the same transducer and had the same problems.

I replaced the transducer and it works fine now. This is the second time I have had to replace the transducer on mine, pretty irritating when they are ~70 bucks a piece...

I was kinda thinking that I'll end up having to get a new transducer. I tried adjusting it like it said in the book. The only other thing I haven't tried is wiping it off with something in case there is some oil or something on it.

I have a 102c. Had the same issues that you are having. Replaced the ducer and so far so good. Look to the online auction sites. The have them all the time. ALOT less than new.
