I just purchased a Model 700 SPS in .17 Rem FB as the price was to good to pass up. Just wondering what you folks thought of that caliber for fox hunting.

I used to do a lot of trapping when I was younger and was thinking how it might be kind of fun to try calling them. I would definitely be saving the pelts even if they're not worth much.

I have no personal experience with the 17fireball, but from what I have read, it is a screaming round......I am sure with the right bullet and good shot placement, it wouldn't tear up a fox too bad, it will also stop a coyote in it's track
