Ok, Target has this camera on sale this week for 499.00 My wife works for Target so we get 10%, then we have an additional 10% off coupon for spending so much danm money there. I have been toying with buying a Digital SLR for a while now. With the kids in sports and always on the move it would be nice to have that fast shutter speed. I have a few questions first.

Q. I'm assuming 405 + tax is a good price for this camera.

Q. Will I notice the .5 difference per second between the xs and xsi?

Q. How big of a deal is the 7 vs. 9 in the auto focus.

I've always liked photography but since my 35mm rebel broke and we entered the point shoot digital age I haven't done a lot. Is it like riding a bike or is it apples and oranges with the Digital SLR vs. 35mm?
