Ok all you Muskie and Pike fisherman/women here is a question for you. If you could pick four (4) color combinations of surface lures (jerk baits) what color combos would you choose?

Not a hard core musky guy but I think the big 4 for me would be..
Black
White/Red
Firetiger
Hot Orange

However, if a nice flashy silver could be added to any and all, that would be nice as well!!

From my observations fishing with people who know muskies:

Black
Black/Red
White (with some orange/red combo colors)

I can't think of anything else for surface lures.

These have worked for me in all types of top-water situations- bass, pike and ski-
(in order of effectiveness)
1) Black- The best by far, others trail far behind
2) Dark green back, orange belly...or just plain orange
3) Chartruse
4) White

Surface - black (isn't everything on the surface black when seen from below?)

Below - red/white or red/silver

Thanks for your help in color selection. We chose to put black on every lure and used the other color ideas. Watch for the new "Goof Ball" coming this season!
