GULP! Chicken Livers

Hey Guys-

Anyone ever try these? Just picked up a pack and going to try them out. What do you use for artificial bait when you catfish?

Thanks,

Koepper08

That sounds like it might be the ticket. There really are no other ARTIFICIAL BAITS for Cats. You can get preserved shad... thats all that comes to mind for me.

Boy, I don't have much experience with artificials for cats. I have used some stink bait, but with little luck. Give that Gulp a shot, let us know how it works out for ya! Otherwise, Creek Chub, Suckers, little bullhead, heck even a couple juicy crawlers will yield results ... keep us posted!

I used them probably 4 times last season for channels, they work fine(not as well as cut bait for me, only used chicken livers when bait was sparse). One tip for using them: stuff a few of them in the end of a pantyhose really tight into a ball, keep pinching the open end while sliding your pinch finger(open end) down until it starts squirting liver out the sides and almost tearing the pantyhose. This keeps the liver confined and will last much longer in a stronger current. Once you have it pinched off really tight, tie a knot right about the top with the excess panty. You will realize you will have a lot of pantyhose left you did not use, tie a knot at the end and redo the process.
