pinkfloyd4ever
Just to add to my day, something happened to my Bill Dance 1230 trolling motor. Playing with the foot control it just went limp. No matter what I do it will not turn the motor. Under the foot board the control lever goes back and forth, so I think its in the motor head area. The arrow on the top of it, that points the direction, is loose. I wasn't in the mood to start unscrewing and see what happens, any tips? Thanks

pinkfloyd4ever
no, not battery. Previously there was tension/call it what you will, when steering the motor in the foot control. The foot control just went soft. Push down or up it does nothing to change the direction. At the foot control, there is a brass control, it seems intact so I think that this lever is not engaging at the head of the motor.
CRFan1
Sounds like the cable snapped. Replace it and you should be good to go.
