96 25hp evinrude value ?

I have a 1996 evinrude electric start with remote but not power trim. It came off my 16 ft lund. It runs fine but has low compression. I upgraded to a new 40 hp so I'm looking to get rid of it. Any Idea what I should list it for with controls? I've looked on C list and a few other places and havent seen any 25's with remote so I'm just trying to get a feel for what to list it for.

I'd do some looking online, the hsolist and the other for sale sites to see what others are asking... that's really your best bet as there really isn't a "blue book" of sorts for loose motors.

The nadaguides lists it about $400 depending on exact model, but I don't think that includes remote rigging. Seems a bit low to me though... Good luck.

NADA Guides are notoriously low for Boat or Motor or combinations unfortunately.

Appreciate the advice. Its easy to look up blue book but I see a lot of other 25's that are a lot older going for a lot more than I was planning on and then there are variables such as bad compression and the controls I have which I can imagine are not cheap. It was going to be almost 300 for the merc controls that I needed for the new engine I bought. I am really just kind of looking to get maybe 500 for everything which would cover what it cost me to get the new one rigged and the prop I want to buy. Dont want to let it lay in the garage because its one more item my insurance company wants to know about.
