broken_line
there is a roughly 500 acre lake that is just a little ways away and all that was in there was, carp, bullhead and minnows. ducksunlimited and the local sportsmans club is draining the lake down to a level where they can get weeds to grow in around the shoreline then bring it back up. i will post pics the next time i am by the water gate they have put in. my grandpa used to tell me stories about the hords of teal on opener and then seeing so more bluebill than the eye could count. also they killed off all the minnow population in a 20 acre slough close by that lake. good to see something happening! Musky Buck
Too bad most MN stories have a "used to" or used to be when it comes to ducks, trophy deer, and ruffed grouse. Geese and turkeys are filling the void now. I wish that lake luck and hope it can get back somewhat anyway and like anything great in MN, it will get reduced to being ok by the hoards of anglers and hunters that flock to such places unless private. Doesn't hurt to hope or try.

No not perfect but theres more geese, Turkeys and Deer in the state then theres been in the last 30 years. Duck Hunting in the state isn't the greatest but hopefully a lot these habitat projects being done can improve it.
