Eric Wettschreck
My dumb question is do you have your tank vent open?

mrpike1973
yes boat vent is open. yes i would try to keep pumping it up even when it started to run then it would die. it pretty much wont start at this point. it will run for maybe 10 seconds and if i touch the throttle high or low it dies. the bulb stays hard and i can hear it pump gas in the carb thanks for the help
boatfixer
The carb is more than likely gummed up. Time to pick up a kit and rebuild it.
