lookincalifornia Posted April 20, 2010 Share Posted April 20, 2010 just before the milfoil tips break the surface is a great time for spooks. even if a few tips are up, they can be great. as mentioned, it is a great way to catch pike too. i've had them shoot 4 feet out of the water and even one came up on shore trying to eat a spook. a 5" keeps the like out of there mouths pretty good, but a 3 1/2 is probably a better bass size early in the year.
