Central MN Crappies

Where are people having luck on Crappies lately. I have not been able to get out yet, but going to make it out tomorrow and Saturday. I live in the Monticello area and was curious as to where people are hitting Crappies?

if you live in Monticello the crappie lake in your back yard is probably producing (Pelican).....................

I hope your joking, they have not drained pelican, there is a plan set to drop the water level a few feet but they are NOT draining it, check out the Montrose DNR HSOforum they have all the pelican lake info on there. Drove by the access off 117 yesterday and there were at least 30 trucks and trailers there tons of guys fishing out there already, only a few fishing off shore might be a little early for crappies out there still.

first like mentioned they are planning on draining it at some point in time but it has more to do with reestablishing vegetation for ducks and migratory birds then it has to do with it expanding but in a round about way I guess because it is expanding it is the reason the fish lived and the bird habitat decreased..........either way it has not been messed with yet......

Well, Sugar Lake is not where they are hitting. Was out there for about 4 hours yesterday and caught 3 little ones.
