anyone know if any of the lakes in the rice creek chain fishable? I was at Reshanau Lake and saw a fishing pier, and the only access would be by canoe. Saw lots of dead carp, wondering if it would be worth while trying to fish for bass, panfish. Any info. on any of the lakes would be great.

The Rice creek chain is all fishable but the "catchable" is the question. There are alot of shallow water lakes in that chain and they all hold fish. Many stunted panfish alot of rough fish and a few really nice Pike. If I was going to canoe the chain, I'd start at the dam below Peltier and work from there. I'd also do it in the fall. Early spring will hold some active pike but they will be before the season. I have only caught a handful of bass in Peltier and Centerville over the years and they seem to be the exception rather then the rule. If a guy was inclined there is a great carp population and some decent sucker fishing to be had and I would think you could do decent for them on a flyrod in the summer months. there are much better bass fisheries nearby.
