Heading to Alaska in June!

Hey guys,

I'm heading up on June 3 to spend 2 wks with my girlfriend, camping, hiking and fishing. I'll be taking the 44 mag. just in case ( don't run very fast anymore ). We'll be spending most of our time on the Kenai Peninsula and fishing for 3 species of Salmon, Rainbows and Dolly's. We've got plans for at least one day out for Halibut and ocean Salmon, maybe two. Hoping we can afford either a float trip, air taxi or guided day on one of the rivers too. We'll see. It's her 4th time adn my first. She's got the edge on me being that she teaches Aquaculture and knows the Salmonoids inside and out (litteraly!). I'll have lots to tell when I get back. Until then, I'm ready for open water!!! Who's up for it?

PS If I get eaten by a bear...Tim, divide up my gear and think of me on the ice : )

Ray, that 44 mag is a good idea, but your going to let Timmie divide your stuff up??!!! The best idea is the girlfriend . . . and she's been there 4 times!

I told her that just to make sure I didn't make her too mad, I'm checking my sleeping bag for fish guts each night. lol The first fishing trip of what should be many. One on the Banana River (FL) with a guide friend and what may be a remote fly in to upper Canada. I'll be in debt but happy!

Ray don't worry about the debt! We take our memories with us to the after life! The bills stay put! LOL

My Cousin lives in Palmer Alaska and keeps inviting me up there to go fishing with him for Halibut and big Shrimp! I might take him up this year!

That's how I see it. Might as well enjoy the time we have as much as we can. You have to go! I'm hoping to go every year from now on. Laurie and I have a tentative plan for future trips. If you ever go, let me know and we'll give you all our info. both good and bad. Heck, I'll go up and fish with you!! Let's fish the softwater this year. Keep in touch

I talked to Ray the Fmoon the other day. He had a blast in Alaska. As for his reporting it here. Lets just say his lady friend has him busy. Another one bites the dust...
