What hook model are you using for Steelhead drift fishing"

last year I rekindled my fever for steelhead and used my long time pre snelled set ups,,,however I need to tie up a bunch of new snells and yarn flys,,,what hook maker/model are people using for yarn flys these days..North shore steelheading

I think we normally use Eagle Claw salmon hooks. They work nice for tying yarn and they are plenty sharp. I don't remember what size we use though.

I use Owner cutting points for the last 4 years #8 & #6.Sharpest hook you can buy. They are harder to find now that Sportsmans Warehouse is gone and not cheap if you are aways dragging the bottom and getting hung up. But i have found you don,t have to be on the bottem to catch,em.Thats why bobbers work so well you spend more time fishing and not rerigging.Give them a try if you can find them im sure you will agree.
