Any Warblers Yet?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen the warbler migration starting? I heard that they are absent even from southern Minnesota yet. I thought with the weather we are having and all the bugs out they would be pushing through already.

Spring was early, but migration seems a little slow. The ruby-crowns finally arrived here on Thursday. But sparse. I have seen only a couple little warblers. In SWMN we usually consider May 15th to be peak warbler season.

I was at Frontenac State Park yesterday and was told that warblers are the main attraction. Unfortunately, I have just one warbler shot in my portfolio, and that's the Black-throated Blue Warbler from Birdsong's backyard. Within a couple weeks I'm going to need to make a return trip to Frontenac. I'm told they get birders there from all over in may.
