car question for ya'll

Recommended Posts

I need some input from all you other motorheads.......I have a 98 plymouth breeze and this winter during one of the many blowing snow days we had i had hit a drift in the road and snow got packed in the front end in the wheel wells and struts.....I had cleaned all the snow out but ever since I have squeaking and just other odd noises(not grinding) and also sometimes when I turn it feels as if the steering gets stuck if that makes sense? I do pretty much all my own work on my vehicles but I cannot seem to find what is causing these issues. I don't see anything bent or broke, so any help or info would greatly be appreciated....thanks in advance

I would jack the car up, remove the outer tie rod ends from the steering knuckle, and rotate the wheel back and forth, also the steering wheel to see if you feel anything. You could have a bad strut mount on it as well.

Sand/debris in the strut mount/plate. Most of them have a lot of plastic in them now so you won't really hear a grind but you will have odd sounds and possibly a catch in the steering.
