Need scope mount advice for Mossy slug gun

Recommended Posts

Hey all:

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a Leupold Rifleman 3-9X 40mm shotgun scope, and the only mounts I'm finding for it are Weaver mounts. But my Mossberg 695 is tapped and drilled for standard rings.

Can anyone recommend a Weaver add-on or a set of non-Weaver rings for this gun/scope combo? I'd prefer a set of non-Weaver rings. Will any typical set of rifle scope rings in the right diameter for the Leupod work?

I've never fooled with shotgun scopes before (always was a rifle guy for deer until last season).

Thanks!

Here's a pic.

check out midwayusa first steve, they have a lot of stuff and I believe you can search by gun model.....if it is available get a picatany rail system for your shot gun and then get rings for your shotgun. Make sure you use loctite on all the screws....

Tom, what are the advantages of the Picatinny? I went to their site, and they sell Mossberg adapters that accept Weaver mounts, and the Weaver mounts come with the Leupold. I wasn't able to search the mounts based on gun model.

Thoughts on advantages/disadvantages of the Picatinny vs Weaver?
