Sioux Narrows Fishing Reports, Ontario

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Question for anyone who may have a good answer...

We have been going up to Sioux Narrows since 1985. We stay at a private camp on Return Point about 5 miles out of town. I will be taking some friends up there to experience the best fishing in the world around the middle of June. Is there someone out there that would be willing to keep us updated on some of what is/isn't working? I'd love to put these guys on fish. We typically fish Yellowgirl, Fire Island, and Bell Island quite a bit. I'd be looking to stay near the Whitefish Bay area I think. Yellowgirl will obviously be an option if the 'eyes are on. Drop me a line if you'd be willing to chew the fat a little bit via email/phone. I'd love to get up and do some pre-trip scouting of my own, but I just don't think it's in the cards this year. I'd really appreciate any info someone could help us with. Thanks guys.

As we are only a week away from June, our trip is creeping up on us VERY quickly. I have heard some news, but I am still looking for someone to let us know how the bite has been. Of course I'm not looking for details on where or what you use, just if the fish are off or on. As I was saying in my last post, I'm just very hopefully that I can put these guys on fish. Anything anyone can offer up about the Whitefish Bay area would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again!!

I would say you guys are going to have some tuff going up there this year. What time of year are you heading up there? From what I understand the whole area within like 7 miles of where you're at has had elevated phosphorus levels since last fall. I heard it was from one of the local water treatment plants going from 200 pounds per year to around a 1000 pounds that they can dump into a local tributary (places can do the same here in MN!. What happens is that the high levels will promote scum and weed groth at an accelerated rate. This can/will chase fish to different areas where the baitfish feel more comfortable with the water conditions. I hope you do well but I would bring some extra steaks to eat for dinner instead. Good luck
