Jiffy tune up

brainard6

Question

I have a jiffy and its due for a tune up. Im looking for some ideas where to take it. I know someone that took his to a place that suppose to be a authorized service center. When he got back it was worst then it was when he took it in.

Does anyone know of a place that they have used to service Jiffy augers?

I've had great luck at the John Deere dealer in Baxter. Northland? A Jiffy tune-up is basically a new spark plug unless your carb needs rebuilding. If your bad luck was on the east side of Brainerd on the corner I've had similar luck taking anything to them.

Im looking for this to be done in the twin cities area. I assuming my idle needs to be set. Whenever I try to drll a hole. My auger will stop. Its almost like it don't have any torque. I have to lift the auger up and get it spinning and then start drilling again. And repeat the process until the hole is drilled.

How long has it been since the carb was torn apart and cleaned? This newer gas has a very short shelf life and varnish builds fast. As you mentioned, if the jets are out of sink or if it is starving for fuel it may just be gunk in the carb. As mentioned above, there really isn't much to the motors on these - carb and spark... or blown up... eek

Ditto, my Jiffy needs some TLC end of this season. Even though my Jiffy has been about bomb proof, it is showing its age. Let us know where you will be taking it. How much could one expect to pay for something like this?
